The mobile health monitoring system is a new model of medical care developed based on sophisticated computer networks, modern communications and sensor technologies. It assures health care services for people anywhere and anytime.
By wearing miniaturised wireless sensing devices, patients can be kept informed of their health condition, whilst medical staff in remote monitoring centre could receive data from those devices and give patients suggestions in time, so that the possibility of a medical emergency could be considerably reduced. [+MORE]
Mobile health monitoring systems are capable of monitoring many physiological parameters (e.g. ECG, heart rate, blood pressure, pulse rate, blood oxygen saturation and body temperature) and activity parameters (e.g. walking speed and distance, calorie consumption). A complete system consists of a wearable body sensor network (including multiple wireless sensor nodes and a central node), smartphones or PCs and a remote medical monitoring centre. The sensors employed in the wearable body sensor network include electrodes, microphones, pressure sensors, optical sensors, temperature sensors and accelerometers. They could be attached to specific parts of human bodies such as wrists, chests and ankles to detect real-time parameters. The data collected by these sensor nodes are gathered into the central node which then sends to local devices such as smart phones or PCs through a WiFi or Bluetooth connection so that patient could view the results. In parallel, local devices would automatically send the results to remote medical monitoring centre through a wired or wireless network for analysis and diagnosis by medical professionals who could be situated anywhere in the world.[-LESS]

STEVAL-MKI062V2 INEMO MEMS Sensor Board
STMICROELECTRONICS
The STEVAL-MKI062V2 is the second generation of the iNEMO™ module family. It combines accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers with pressure and temperature sensors to provide 3-axis sensing of linear, angular and magnetic motion, complemented with temperature and barometer/altitude readings, representing the new ST 10-DOF (degrees of freedom) platform. |
