Product Overview

The BGM121A256V1 from Silicon Labs is a 2.4GHz blue gecko BGM121 Bluetooth SIP module. It is targeted for applications where ultra small size, reliable high performance RF, low power consumption and easy application development are key requirements. The module fits applications where size is a constraint. The total PCB area required by BGM121 is only 51mm². The BGM121 also integrates a Bluetooth 4.2 compliant Bluetooth stack and it can also run end user applications on-board or alternatively used as a network co-processor over one of the host interfaces. The module also integrates a high performance, ultra robust antenna which requires minimal PCB, plastic and metal clearance. It is used in wearables, IoT end devices, gateways, health, sports and wellness devices, smart phone, tablet and PC accessories, beacons.
  • 2 x UART/SPI/SmartCard (ISO 7816)/IrDA/I2S, LEUART, I2C, ADC, IDAC and ACMP
  • Bluetooth 4.2 low energy compliant, built-in antenna, low power wireless system-on-chip
  • TX power up to +8dBm, RX sensitivity down to -92dBm and range up to 200m
  • Low energy consumption, general purpose CRC and random number generator
  • High performance 32bit ARM Cortex-M4 core at 38.4MHz (256KB flash memory, 32KB RAM)
  • Autonomous hardware crypto accelerator and random number generator
  • Integrated DC to DC converter, onboard Bluetooth stack
  • 1.85V to 3.8V single power supply and 2.4V to 3.8V when using DC to DC converter
  • Bluetooth smart protocol stack, 30 GPIO, fast time to market and low R&D costs
  • Wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C and dimension is 6.5mm x 6.5mm x 1.4mm
