The STM32N6570-DK Discovery Kit from ST is a comprehensive platform for prototyping next-generation Edge AI and IoT devices, featuring the Arm® Cortex®‑M55 core-based STM32N657X0H3Q microcontroller. Designed for developers and system architects, the kit integrates powerful edge AI, vision, and secure connectivity capabilities in a compact, ready-to-use hardware platform. The kit includes a full suite of peripherals to evaluate and develop applications: USB Type-C®, Octo-SPI flash memory, Hexadeca-SPI PSRAM, Ethernet, camera module, LCD, microSD™, audio codec, digital microphones, ADCs, user buttons, and flexible extension connectors for unlimited expansion. These connectors enable integration of wireless modules, sensors, and analog peripherals to tailor the platform for specific applications.

The STM32N657X0H3Q MCU features multiple interfaces, including USB 2.0 Device/Host/OTG, Ethernet with TSN, I2C/I3C, SPI/I2S, SAI, USART/UART, LPUART, SDMMC, CAN FD with TTCAN, JTAG/SWD, and Embedded Trace Macrocell™ (ETM). The kit also integrates an STLINK-V3EC embedded debugger/programmer with a USB Virtual COM port bridge, enabling rapid development, debugging, and deployment. This demo showcases a new STMicroelectronics microcontroller with an integrated NPU for edge AI, using the ST Cube AI library for real-time person detection. The system assigns a unique ID to the first person in the frame and dynamically tracks them using a motorized camera base, keeping the individual centered in the frame.
