Product Overview
LTM8052 is a 36VIN, 5A, 2-quadrant constant-voltage, constant-current (CVCC) step-down μModule® regulator. Included in the package are the switching controller, power switches, inductor and support components. This is able to sink or source current to maintain voltage regulation up to the positive and negative current limits. This output current limit can be set by a control voltage, a single resistor or a thermistor. Typical applications are constant-frequency voltage regulation even at no load, peltier driver, battery tester, battery/supercap charging and cell balancing, motor drive power regulator, high power LED drive.
- Adjustable output current, forced continuous operation, programmable soft-start
- Minimum input voltage is 6V maximum (TA=25°C. RUN=3V)
- Output DC voltage is 1.2V typical (IOUT=1A, RADJ open)
- Output DC current range from –6 to 5A (CTL-T, CTL-I=1.5V)
- Quiescent current into VIN is 0.1µA typical (VIN=12V, RUN=0V)
- Output RMS voltage ripple is 10mV typ (VIN=12V, IOUT=4.5A)
- Switching frequency is 1000KHz typical (RT=40.2K)
- Voltage at ADJ pin range from 1.16 to 1.22V (TA=25°C. RUN=3V)
- 81-lead LGA package
- Temperature rating range from -40°C to 125°C
