Product Overview
MCP41010-I/P is a single digital potentiometer with SPI™ interface. The wiper position of the varies linearly and is controlled via an industry-standard SPI interface. The devices consume <lt/>1µA during static operation. A software shutdown feature is provided that disconnects the “A” terminal from the resistor stack and simultaneously connects the wiper to the “B” terminal. The wiper is reset to the mid-scale position (80h) upon power-up. The RS (reset, active low) pin implements a hardware reset and also returns the wiper to mid-scale.
- 256 taps for each potentiometer, SPI™ serial interface (mode 0,0 and 1,1)
- Low power CMOS technology
- Supply current, static is 0.01µA typ (active low CS/SHDN/RS = VDD = 5.5V, SO = Open, TA = +25°C)
- Shutdown feature open circuits of all resistors for maximum power savings
- Operating voltage range from 2.7 to 5.5V (VDD = 5V, VSS = 0V, VB = 0V, TA = +25°C)
- Rheostat tempco is 800ppm/°C typ (VDD = 5V, VSS = 0V, VB = 0V, TA = +25°C)
- Differential non-linearity is ±1/4LSB typ (VDD = 5V, VSS = 0V, VB = 0V, TA = +25°C)
- Integral non-linearity is ±1/4LSB typ (VDD = 5V, VSS = 0V, VB = 0V, TA = +25°C)
- Full scale error is -0.7LSB typ (Code FFh, VDD = 5V, TA = +25°C)
- 8 pin PDIP package, industrial operating temperature range from -40 to 85°C
