The Startech MCMGBSCSM10 Fibre Media Converter extends a Gigabit Ethernet (1000Mb/s) network up to 10km over single-mode fibre on 1000BASE-SX networks. The converter provides a cost-effective way to transparently convert copper to fibre or fibre to copper, allowing you to connect remote sub-networks to larger fibre-optic networks. Equipped with both SC fibre and RJ45 Ethernet ports, it can be easily integrated into a wide range of Gigabit Ethernet network infrastructures. The converter provides optimum network scalability for connecting two or more Ethernet network nodes, for example connecting two buildings on the same campus or facility.
