L78L05ABUTR

L78L05ABUTR is a L78L series positive voltage regulator. It employs internal current limiting and thermal shutdown, making it essentially indestructible. This is intended as a fixed voltage regulator in a wide range of applications, including local or on-card regulation for the elimination of noise and distribution problems associated with single-point regulation. In addition, this can be used with power pass elements to make high-current voltage regulators. The L78L series used as a Zener diode/resistor combination replacement offers an improvement, along with lower quiescent current and lower noise.

• Line regulation is 150mV max at VI = 7.3 to 20V, TJ = 25°C
• Load regulation is 60mV max at IO = 1 to 100mA, TJ= 25°C
• Quiescent current is 6mA max at TJ= 25°C
• Supply voltage rejection is 49dB typ at VI = 8 to 18V, f = 120Hz, IO = 40mA, TJ = 25°C
• Dropout voltage is 2V typ at TJ = 0 to 125°C (AC) TJ = -40 to 125°C (AB), VI = 10V, IO = 40mA
